IDENTIQ exists because South African students deserve more than a one-afternoon test and a printout. We built a 12-month operating system for identity and direction — the kind of support that changes trajectories.
"Most students leave school having been tested on everything except who they are. That is the single most important gap in their education, and the one we set out to close."
It started with a conversation over coffee in 2019. Christel had spent years in education before moving into full-time ministry — and even then, the question that wouldn't leave her was the same one she'd watched students struggle with from every angle: Who am I, and what am I here to do?
On their second date, Marius asked her what her vision was — beyond ministry, beyond career, as a human being with a purpose. What she described was the foundation of what IDENTIQ would become: a system that helps young people discover their identity first, and then — and only then — figure out where they're going.
Christel returned to education in 2020 — not by default, but with intention. She went back to pursue this vision from the inside, from within the classroom and the school system, close enough to see what was missing at every level.
Marius brought a different dimension. As a builder of systems and platforms, his vision was the connection layer: not just helping students understand themselves, but building the bridge between high-potential young people and the entrepreneurs, mentors, and investors who want to pour into the next generation — but don't know how to find them.
Two visions. One conviction. You cannot know where you're going until you know who you are.
"You have no idea what to do with your life until you know who you are. That was true for both of us. We built IDENTIQ so it doesn't have to take a decade to figure out."
Christel's career has always circled the same question: how do we help young people become who they're meant to be? She spent years in education before stepping into full-time ministry — and in 2020, she stepped back into education with a clear purpose: to build the system that didn't exist.
She leads IDENTIQ's identity framework, programme design, and in-school facilitation model. She is the person closest to the learner — and the one who ensures the platform never loses sight of the human being it's built to serve.
Marius is a serial entrepreneur and platform builder operating across commercial property, co-working, proptech, and education technology. He is the co-founder and driving force behind multiple ventures — including Brickfield Properties, Brickfield Spaces, The Village Hub, and Spacefind.
Across every venture, the same pattern holds: Marius identifies a gap in how people connect to the right opportunity, and builds the system to close it. IDENTIQ is that same conviction applied to the most important connection of all — a young person finding their direction.
He leads IDENTIQ's commercial architecture, platform strategy, and the entrepreneur connection layer: the infrastructure that links high-potential learners to the mentors, business leaders, and investors who want to pour into the next generation — but need the right bridge to find them.
Faith-driven. Legacy-minded. Builder by nature.
IDENTIQ is built with a wider group of educators, facilitators, psychometric specialists, and technical developers who bring the platform to life. We are deliberately building a team that combines academic rigour with real-world school experience — people who understand both the assessment science and the classroom reality.
